I CAN DO IT!

Program Structure

I CAN DO IT! is a music program designed for children at the pre-school and eloementary levels, K06. Each of the 67 songs embidoes a basic concept such as respect, responsibility or sesilience.  The level of sophistication of the concepts ranges from very simple, such as sharing,, to more complicatied concepts such as my potential or justice. Suggestions for the placement of the songs within the level of understanding of the children have been made, However, children are often able to grasp the meaning of complicted concepts beyond their age-range, so don't be limited by the suggestions.

Concepts from the 57 songs found in I CAN DO IT! have been placed by grade level groupings in four life skill areas: Organization and Management, Interpersonal (Getting along with others), Thinking and Intrapersonal (Understanding myself).  A brief description of each of the life skill areas follows.

Organization and Management Skills.

Interpersonal Skills (Understanding and interactiing with others).

Thinking Skills.

Intrapersonal Skills (Understanding and managing oneself).
